The Collector movie is a thriller about a serial killer who dons a black mask as he goes after his victims. The film first follows a family moving into an old abandoned house in Detroit, far away from other neighbors. We are introduced to the character Arkin, who the family hires to fix up the house. The Collector movie follows Arkin where we learn that his wife Lisa is in debt and being hunted by loan sharks. She is planning on fleeing town when Arkkin assures her that he will take care of her debt.
Arkin plans to get the money by robbing the family on whose house he has been doing construction work. When Arkin breaks into the house at night, he discovers that The Collector has already made his move. Arkin discovers the house is booby trapped and that the family has been tied up in different rooms all over the house. Michael, the father, has particularly been tortured and beat up. Arkin tells Michael he will help to rescue the family. Given the code to the family’s safe by Michael, he gets a gun and a jewel he had originally intended to rob from the family. When he continues moving through the house he is barraged by a series of bloody and lethal booby traps.
In the Collector movie, Arkin’s attempts to save the family members are thwarted as the Collector violently and graphically murders and tortures them. Arkin discovers how the Collector lays his trap and that he is a serial killer who goes after families. Arkin is about to escape the house in terror when he notices one of the family’s daughters pull up with her boyfriend. He tries to warn them to run, but they enter the house and fall into the sadistic traps of the Collector.
Arkin then succeeds in finding Hannah and they attempt to fight off the Collector. Arkin gets Hannah away, but he himself is caught by the Collector. For a brief moment in their fight, Arkin unmasks the Collector, but Arkin quickly gets knocked out. Arkin then attempts once more to flee with Hannah and they manage to fight off the Collector and get out. Once outside, Arkin gets Hannah safely to the police, but Arkin is confronted by the Collector yet again, where we discover who he really is.
The Collector movie is a nonstop thriller that you will not be able to pull your eyes away from as every second is full of terror and action. If you are into violent serial killer thrillers, then the Collector movie is exactly for you.

How is it that this killer guy is able to get into this house and set up all of these traps with out the girls coming in and finding them. It would of taken him at least a month to set all that shit up but yet it like he did it in a day or two. Thw movies good for the gore and what not but there is no way he could of set all that shit up with out the daughters being out of the house for a month or more. That shit is retarded.

He was the exterminator that you see with a gas mask on that “Arkin” speaks to about the wasp nest in the beginning of the movie…look at the similar vans (size, shape, and color) …the contruction and extermination crew had, in fact, been there for a month or more. The entire house was being remodeled. That takes time. And I ask you what old house in the world has absolutely no bug problems? None. So he had just as much work to do in that old house as the construction crew.

Im about to watch “The Collector” for the first time. I heard it was an awsome movie. When i read the description and some of the reviews it seemed like a movie i’d like to watch. But i have a question, Is The Collector kinda like the “Saw” movies?
