How Did Hector Die On Longmire

In the final moments of the third season of Longmire, we discovered that our beloved deputy, who had been kidnapped and locked in a basement for weeks, was actually being held as an unwilling prisoner by his own family. Hector’s uncle and aunt had taken him captive after he refused to help them in their drug-running operations. When he finally escaped from their clutches, it was with the assistance of the rest of the Longmire team — who led him back to his uncle’s home so he could uncover new information and help bring him to justice.

Hector was last seen jogging away from Sheriff Walt and Deputy Branch with a small smile on his face. However, what happened to Hector after that point remains unclear. Did he continue working as a deputy? If so, did he remain friends with any members of the Longmire team? What circumstances led to his return to Canada? To find out more about what happened to Hector on Longmire, keep reading!

What Happened to Hector on Longmire?

After Hector briefly left Longmire, he moved back to Canada, where he worked as a detective in Vancouver. At some point, he was injured in the line of duty, but he refused to talk to anyone at the hospital about how he sustained his injuries. Soon after, he was shot in the back by a suspect and ended up paralyzed from the waist down. This may have been the source of Hector’s mysterious injuries. After Hector was paralyzed, he was determined to commit suicide, but his father convinced him to go to a rehabilitation facility instead. Hector spent the next year and a half learning how to use a wheelchair, and he credits that experience with restoring his faith in humanity. Hector also credits his father for giving him the strength to survive the hardships he faced after his injury.

Why Did Hector Go to Canada in the First Place?

Hector’s uncle and aunt were involved in drug-running operations, and Hector refused to help them out. This forced his uncle to kidnap Hector and keep him locked up in the basement of a cabin in the woods to ensure his cooperation. While Hector was a prisoner, his uncle and aunt were killed in a shootout with the Canadian police. Before they died, they demanded that Hector finish their drug-running operations or they would kill his little sister. Hector refused, knowing that his family would harm his sister if he did not quickly complete the job. Hector was eventually rescued by the Longmire team, who led him back to his uncle’s home so he could uncover new information and help bring his uncle and aunt to justice. When Hector was able to leave the woods and go back to Vancouver, he planned on leaving the criminal underworld behind him once and for all. Once Vancouver Police Department hired him, Hector was determined to make a clean break with his criminal past.
